The slug tester is used to accurately determine the optimum dosing disk height for any size capsule (000, 00, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) relative to the product dosage required. It is also very useful in determining slug quality and simulates the transfer of the slug from the dosing disk to the lower capsule. The slug tester can also be used during the Research and Development phase of new products. The created slugs can then be used for dissolution testing and excipient usage determination.
